Soul Influence is an a cappella septet, African in our choice of rhythm and beat, Afro-jazz in our musical style, Christian in our conviction and lyrics, service to God and fellow man as our focus. Our name reflects our desire to influence souls through music.Against a backdrop of Western Culture, Soul Influence produces a fusion of distinct African spiritual sounds of Zulu, Shona, Ndebele, Bemba, Lingala, Tonga, Taita and Swahili origin with contemporary Christian gospel music. Soul Influence sings richly layered vocal harmonies, combining the intricate beat and rhythm of the motherland with the sounds and sentiments of Christian gospel music.
We believe that our purpose for being here on earth is greater than ourselves. That is why we are more than just a singing group. Our prayer is to reach out to both the local and universal community and in so doing better the society we live in. By raising our voices in song, we hope to raise the awareness of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa. We have worked hand in hand with the York Region AIDS Committee in support of the Stephen Lewis Foundation and The Hopes and Dreams Team, Canada. This year Soul Influence has partnered with Compassion Canada in order to take social awareness to a new level.
With a humble beginning of four (4) members in March 2003 the group is now composed of seven (7) members and is currently based in Toronto, Canada. The group has performed at various events namely The Urban Aids Concert with Artists like Alicia Keys, Nelly Furtado, K-OS & Keisha Chante. The Stephen Lewis Foundation Gala with The Barenaked Ladies, They have been in concert with renown Canadian Jazz Vocal Band Cadence, they have performed at The Harry Jerome Awards, Various Festivals, Churches, Schools, Corporate Functions & Fundraising events just to name a few.

It has taken me waaaaaaay to long to post my comment. I first heard your music in August 2006 when I was visiting Toronto - You are great! Today, as i worked at my desk, I played your music and thought of sending you a line or two. May you continue to be the positive influence that you have proved to be, and may your gifts blossom in abundance. Asante sana.
